– Series of bilateral exercises in August – September 2023
The summer and month of September 2023 saw a profusion of bilateral exercises involving the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). From September 1 to 9, the Chinese and Thai armies carried out a set of joint training exercises dubbed “Blue Strike-2023” (蓝色突击-2023), focused on urban combat and maritime security. This is the fifth edition of the exercise. The PLA had previously conducted joint air exercises with the Royal Thai Army in August 2023, dubbed “Falcon Strike-2023” (鹰击-2023) – also a recurring exercise.
