On 21st September, whilst discussions were still ongoing at the UN general Assembly, Sergey Lavrov met with Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. The latter is the Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, in a country that is still being plagued by a violent civil war. Russia is strongly interested in the conflict’s evolution, and has reaffirmed its policy of cooperation with the Sudanese government.
