 Environmental policies and issues of the EU and Member States – Update on 17/06/2023

 On June 15, the European Parliament was asked to vote on the adoption of the “Nature Restoration Bill”. This bill had first been submitted to the Commission in June 2022, and is awaiting approval. The aim is to force European states to restore all landscapes damaged by human activity: forests, wetlands and other landscapes. According to the European Commission, 80% of these landscapes have been damaged, suggesting the need for a form of restoration that goes far beyond mere preservation.
