A draft law on new mobilization measures, which was to be considered by the Ukrainian Parliament on January 11, 2024, was finally sent back to the government for revision.

According to Davyd Arakhamia, the head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s party, “there have been a lot of discussions […] but not all norms can be supported. Some provisions directly violate human rights, some are not optimally formulated. But all political forces have understood and support the need for mobilization.” Parliament will now be able to return to the bill at the earliest in February 2024, during its next meeting.
