On the 7th of May, Faisal bin Farhan al Saud, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Sergey Lavrov, his Russian counterpart. Their discussion touched upon the ongoing conflict in Gaza, since the Israeli offensive on Rafah had just started. The two ministers are openly supporting the enforcing of a ceasefire, and wish to see the conflict resolved through diplomatic means. Moreover, the cooperation between the two countries, notably from the energetic point of view with the OPEC+, has been brought up.
