The 78th anniversary’s celebrations of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War on the 9th may have taken up a large part in weekly informations. For the occasion, russian-abkhaz and russian-south-ossetian relationships have been strengthened by bilateral congratulatory messages. Thus, the “russian president, Vladimir Poutin, has stated congratulations to the leaders of the two self-proclaimed states, Abkhazia and South Ossetia” while he has sent “congratulatory messages to the georgian people” but not to its leaders.
