Meeting of the Supreme Council of the State Union between Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin.

On 6 April 2023 a session of the Supreme Council of the State Union took place in Moscow. President Alexander Lukashenko visited the meeting to discuss with President Vladimir Putin the implementation of the State Union Treaty for 2021-2023.

On the evening of 5 April, on the eve of the meeting of the Supreme Council of the State Union, Alexander Lukashenko travelled to the Kremlin for private talks with Vladimir Putin. According to journalists who intercepted Alexander Lukashenko before his private meeting in the Kremlin, the Belarusian leader announced that the topics of their meeting would be defence and security issues.
