On 16 June, a meeting of the Ukrainian government was held in the Kherson region under the chairmanship of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. During the meeting, the stages of the liquidation of the consequences of the floods after the destruction of the Kakhovka dam on 6 June were discussed. Denys Shmyhal noted that rescuers have already evacuated 2,700 people, including more than 300 children. In total, more than 3,700 people were rescued from the flooded area. Today, 39 localities remain in the disaster area.
