In a video posted on social networks which went viral in the country on 5 June, the organization in charge of counter-terrorism and the fight against organized crime in Kyrgyzstan, the National State Security Committee (UKMK), filmed itself arresting several individuals suspected of planning to overthrow the current government. They had intended to stage demonstrations and then take full advantage of the chaos to infiltrate the seats of power by force and overthrow the current regime.
