On the 19th of January, Mikhail Bogdanov, a Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign affairs, separately received Hamas representatives and the Israeli ambassador to Moscow, Simone Halperin. The first exchange, with the Hamas’ second-in-command, Mousa Abu Marzook, was mainly dedicated to the humanitarian situation on the Gaza Strip, but also focused on the liberation of the last few hostages held by the Salafist group, including 3 Russian citizens.
