On June 7, the Viasna Center for Human Rights announced on its Telegram channel the release of Sofia Sapega, the former girlfriend of Roman Protasevich arrested in 2021.

On May 23, 2021, the Ryanair airliner which linked Greece to Lithuania was diverted from its course and forced to land in Minsk for a false bomb threat. The couple on board was then arrested by the country’s authorities.
