– Official launch of Taiwan’s first domestic submarine

On September 28, Taiwan unveiled the first submarine produced directly on the island, which will enter service in 2025. It is also the first in a series of eight submarines, as part of the project to build a submarine force initiated by Tsai Ing-wen upon her accession to power in 2016.
