As the war in Ukraine drags on, negotiations continue in an effort to find a resolution to the conflict. With European support, Kyiv persists in trying to convince Washington to reach an acceptable solution to end the fighting with Moscow.
Nevertheless, despite attempts at negotiations between Washington and Moscow in Riyadh last February, notably concerning Ukrainian mineral resources, Ukraine’s security guarantees, and potential territorial concessions to Russia, no joint ceasefire agreement has been reached.
Despite the lack of tangible progress, European powers, particularly France and the United Kingdom, are striving to play an active role in the discussions, aware that their own security is at stake.
