On the 18th of November, Russia used its veto power in order to counter a resolution draft at the UN Security Council, which was dedicated to the ongoing situation in Sudan. To be more specific, the combats between Khartoum’s government and the Rapid Support Forces, a paramilitary rebel group, are still unfolding in the south of the country, causing some heavy humanitarian consequences for the local population (almost 11 million refugees, according to the United Nations).
