On the 24th of February, Sergey Lavrov visited Turkey for a diplomatic visit, which touched upon ongoing issues in Eurasia. First of all, the bilateral cooperation between Kremlin and Ankara, particularly on the topic of energy. Despite Turkey’s membership in NATO, the country has always refused to impose sanctions against Moscow, which can be explained by the common projects shared by the two countries. As an example, the Russian company Rosatom contributes to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, and the two nations are linked to each other through the TurkStream gas pipeline.
