The 60-day deadline for updating personal data with the military authorities for Ukrainian men expired on July 16, 2024. This norm was specified in the law on military mobilization, which came into force on May 18, to address the shortage of soldiers on the Ukrainian front.
The data update applies to men aged 18 to 60 (including those living abroad) and women with medical or pharmaceutical education. They must update their personal information at the Central Administrative Services of Ukraine or, at the Territorial Centers of Military Personnel. In addition, to facilitate this task, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has launched an application, Reserve+ (Резерв+), which provides an electronic military registration document, the equivalent of a paper document.
New : military summons by letter
The new law legalized summons by registered letter. At a meeting on July 9, the Council of Ministers issued a resolution on the procedure for conscription to military service. A summons will be considered delivered by letter, even if the recipient was absent from his place of residence to receive it. A citizen will be considered notified of a call to the military enlistment office, even if the post office notes the absence of the person at the residential address.
The law states that from July 17, military authorities will begin to send military summons by post en masse. The process of checking documents on the street will also intensify.
What fines and restrictions will apply to those subject to military service who have not updated their personal data ?
According to the Director of the Human Resources Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Colonel Mark Andrusyak, despite the expiration of the deadline for updating personal data, the possibility of using the application remains and users can still update their data. However, this does not exempt from administrative responsibility for late updating.
