While the Netherlands launched the kick-off the European elections on 6th June, the stakes related to the construction of a European defense, constitute a key point in this campaign, and divides the candidates at the national and European scale.

A few months ago, in an interview with the regional daily press group Ebra on 27th April, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his expectations for the creation of a European defense system. He shared a very ambitious vision: to open the debate on the potential sharing of French nuclear weapon, to the whole European Union. “I am open to this debate, which must include nuclear weapons for those who have them. Let’s put everything on the table and look at what really protects us in a credible way.”
