– Fatah and Hamas representatives meet in Beijing

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of Hamas and Fatah met in Beijing at the end of April (1). Little was said about this meeting: in a short speech on April 30, the Ministry spokesman simply stated that the representatives present expressed their “political desire to achieve reconciliation through negotiation“, as well as their willingness to “continue the dialogue process” (2).
