27/06/2022: Turkish company Koç Holding implement a number of joint projects in Kazakhstan – Aliya Yechshanova- 

On June 27, the head of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the representative of the board of the Turkish company Koç Holding Ali Koch, who told the head of the country about the current activities of the enterprise, as well as about his future plans for the early implementation of common projects in the republic.

Emphasising that the holding plans to further strengthen bilateral cooperation with the Kazakh side, Ali Kochem said that the company is considering prospects for bilateral cooperation to implement projects in the defence industry and the agro-industrial complex. At the same time, he expressed hope for support from the leadership of Kazakhstan and the gradual development of mutually beneficial partnership.

Tokayev stressed that cooperation with Turkey is of great importance for the state. Taking into account this factor, the President said that the republic will always provide comprehensive assistance and support to investors who conduct their activities in the country.

 

06/29/22 – The sixth Caspian summit took place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan – Denis Lavaud –

On June 29, the sixth Caspian summit was held with the heads of the states of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Iran and Turkey. The purpose of this summit was to discuss regional cooperation and international issues. 

The heads of state underlined their wish for military cooperation between the nations sharing the Caspian Sea coast, and they stressed the importance of not allowing access of foreign forces to the region.

During this summit, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed the creation of a railway line dedicated to the freight of goods linking Kazakhstan to Iran via Turkmenistan, and which would help supplying wheat and cereals to many countries that do not have access to these goods, due to the war in Ukraine.
